Itinerario

DAY 1

Arrival in Namibia

Arrival in Namibia at Windhoek by 10 am; preparation of the crews and departure in 4X4 vehicles towards Sesriem. Arrival in the late afternoon at the lodge - dinner and overnight stay (DBB).

DAY 2

Sossusvlei e Sesriem Canyon

Departure before dawn towards Sesriem to the gates of Namib-Naukluft National Park heading to Sossusvlei and Dead Vlei, a characteristic white clay crust with remains of centuries-old trees bordered by desert dunes. Subsequently, exploration of the Sesriem canyon in its lunar and equally ancient landscape; the canyon in this area is about one kilometer long and up to 30 m deep where, in some sections, it is rather narrow (up to a minimum of 2 m), forming perennial pools of water from which animals can drink.
Once the canyon excursion is finished, you will stop for lunch at a -local- small restaurant in the desert, then return leisurely, always admiring the incredible desert scenery, to your lodge that will await you for a refreshing shower and a hearty dinner.
Arrival in the afternoon at the lodge - dinner and overnight stay (DBB).

DAY 3

Atlantic Ocean

After breakfast luggage is loaded and departure towards the ocean coast, where the desert meets the Atlantic Ocean. Swakopmund, characteristic German-style city overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, will welcome you upon arrival in the afternoon, but only after crossing the Tropic of Capricorn, making a brief stop also at Solitaire for the delicious apple pie in the desert.
You will be excited and amazed in the Moon Valley, admiring what might vaguely resemble our satellite, the Moon. During the itinerary inside the park, if the wind is not impertinent and the sand not too rough, we can also admire the famous Welwitschia, among the oldest indigenous plants on the planet.
Stop for lunch among the mountains of the Moon Valley, until the well-deserved relaxation, after so many km, in a guesthouse in Swakopmund where you will stay for two nights.
Arrival at guesthouse - overnight and breakfast - dinner not included (bb).

DAY 4

Sandwich Harbour

Breakfast and departure at 7.45 for sandwich harbour where you will have one of the most beautiful excursions of the trip. You will start with a mini cruise on a catamaran admiring everything the ocean will have the goodness to show you while sailing to the sand spits that divide the lagoon from the "open sea"; unexpected visitors such as pelicans and seals are now "at home on the boat" and often, during navigation, it is possible to find them on board.
Upon returning to the port, departure for the excursion on the Namib dunes. You will admire one of the most spectacular deserts in the world right next to the ocean; the area is populated by antelopes, jackals, ostriches and small rodents, the flora is arid and the bush expands among the dunes giving "lunar" scenery.
The thousands of pink flamingos in flight and the salt pans with pink and pastel blue colors will be the frame that will accompany the return from this excursion.
On board 4x4 cars you will travel along the coast; you will climb up very high dunes from where you will admire unparalleled scenery while enjoying wine and sandwiches during a pleasant and well-deserved soft lunch.
In the afternoon return to guesthouse for dinner (not included) and overnight stay (bb).

DAY 5

Sptizkoppe

After breakfast you will begin your journey to a magical, ancestral but above all incredible place; used for the scenography of the Oscar-winning "2001: A Space Odyssey", Spitzkoppe remains absolutely the most incredible and mysterious place in Namibia; with its peak reaching 1700m and an age of around 700 million years; Spitzkoppe is a surprising landmark in the Namibian landscape and a lesser-known attraction to the point that many visitors in cars have been seen driving straight past these peaks, unaware of the beauty that awaited them; the granite of the mountain range is long-standing as is the distinctive shape of the mountain that has earned it the nickname of the Matterhorn of Namibia.
You will visit the park admiring its suggestive shape and indulging in photographs that will remain an indelible memory of this place; after the excursion, movement towards the lodge and depending on the time, lunches or possible extra package excursions will be managed - arrival at the lodge with dinner, breakfast and overnight stay (dbb).

DAY 6

Direction to Damaraland

Breakfast and departure towards the Damaraland region (the land of the Damara people), an arid and mountainous area characterized by reddish sandstone. Geologists confirm that the area dates back to more than 150 million years ago. Arid plains, paths that lead to mysterious and untouched places, landscapes that are always different at every turn, Damaraland is a totally magical place that should not only be crossed but fully experienced!
This area is special because the last desert elephants live here together with the Kunene lions and the desert rhinoceroses, but only they are the masters of these remote lands. They move freely throughout the entire region indeed there are neither fences nor barriers.
Arrival at Twyfelfontein around 13:30 about 90km west of Khorixas; after checking in at the lodge and having a restorative lunch, you will have the opportunity to take the beautiful excursion to admire the desert elephants with a sunset aperitif. Dinner, overnight and breakfast (dbb).

DAY 7

Etosha N.P.

After breakfast the journey continues towards the northeast to Etosha NP where you will spend two nights.
The nights will be divided between two lodges inside the park in order to let you admire the beauty of this territory, unique in its kind. Arrival around lunch time at the Okaukuejo gate, where after completing the entry procedures, you will stop for lunch before settling in your rooms, refreshing yourselves and departing for the first afternoon tour in the park. Return based on park hours, dinner and overnight stay (dbb).
The central part of Etosha park consists of the Etosha pan, a salt depression of 5000 km2 (about 130 km long and 50 km wide at its widest point). It is believed that until about 12 million years ago this area was a shallow lake, fed by the Cunene River; later it changed its course, and the area became a semi-desert. During the rainy season, the pan is sometimes flooded by the Ekuma, Oshigambo and Omuramba Ovambo rivers. During the dry season, the pan returns to take on the characteristics of a desert; the salt soil, cracked by the sun, takes on the intense white color from which the name "Etosha" derives. During this period the wind carries the Etosha dust towards the Atlantic Ocean, also providing the soil of the western regions with the supply of mineral salts on which much of the fauna and flora depend.
Created in 1907, it was one of the first parks created for the protection of fauna and flora. With an area of 100,000 square kilometers, the park was at the time the largest protected area in the world. Around 1960 the park was progressively reduced in size, until it reached its current extension of about 23,000 square kilometers. Following dirt tracks, you go in search of groups of elephants, gathered around water holes, herds of herbivores, in perpetual movement between the acacia groves and lions lurking among the bushes around the pools. The scarcity of water basins makes necessary a curious respect for the hierarchy of animals that drink; in order of importance there will be: elephants, predators, herbivores and then birds. The animals wait impassively for their turn, arranging themselves in groups around the pool.

DAY 8

Etosha N.P.

After breakfast (early) you will head towards the other camp that will host you in the park, you will admire fauna and flora in a surprising way, being moved by what you can capture with your eyes and why not also with a nice shot as a souvenir.
Organization of the day based on sightings; arrival at the camp and depending on the time safari or dinner with overnight stay (dbb).

DAY 9

Village of Rundu

After breakfast the journey continues eastward, along the Caprivi Strip, to the village of Rundu, from where you will take the detour to the lodge.
It will be a long day with many kilometers.
Before reaching it, you will visit Hoba meteorite which is the heaviest meteorite and the largest mass of iron of natural origin currently known on Earth's surface.
Lunch not included along the way, the afternoon depending on the arrival time, will be dedicated to relaxation.
Located along the bank of the Kavango River, listening to the sounds of the surrounding nature, the Kavango River (also called Okavango River) flows for about 1,600 km from its source in Angola (where it is known as Kubango), to the Okavango Delta in Botswana.
Part of its course marks the natural border between Namibia and Angola and continues through the Caprivi Strip, then dividing into minor rivers and ending in the well-known delta (internal continental delta) as a precious water source for all three countries it crosses and for the Kavango people, who derive life from it.
The river is populated by intense wildlife: hippos, crocodiles, herds of elephants, lions, buffaloes, wild dogs and antelopes (typical of the area); the latter are easily spotted.
The area hosts about 430 bird species, with over 20 endemic species, including the yellow wagtail, the wattled crane, the snipe and the African screamer.
Dinner and overnight stay (dbb).

DAY 10

Okavango

After breakfast departure towards the north of the Okavango Delta and its wide lagoons and channels.
Expected arrival at the lodge in the afternoon, relaxation on the shores of the lagoon; dinner and overnight stay (fb).
Have you ever imagined navigating in a canoe through an aquatic labyrinth where elephants and hundreds of bird species coexist in perfect balance?
This is not a dream, but daily reality in the Okavango Delta, a natural wonder in the heart of Botswana where the river transforms into an aquatic expansion that gives life to one of the most vibrant ecosystems on the planet.
The following day (August 26), after breakfast, will begin with the mokoro activity, the typical boats of the delta.
Safaris in mokoro (the famous traditional canoes) offer a silent and intimate way to navigate through narrow channels, approaching animals without disturbing them.
Navigating through the tranquil waterways of the Okavango Delta aboard a mokoro allows you to connect with nature in a unique and profound way.
These traditional canoes, guided by expert local 'polers', glide silently on the water, bringing you closer to the delta's wildlife in a way that no other means can offer.
Imagine gliding close to a group of elephants bathing peacefully or observing colorful water birds up close in their natural habitat.
The Okavango Delta environment supports an extraordinary variety of life.
In addition to large mammals, the delta hosts over 400 bird species, making it a paradise for ornithologists.
The plants, ranging from acacias on the higher islands to aquatic plants in the wetter areas, support and nourish the delta's fauna, creating a well-balanced and interdependent ecological cycle.
The sunsets over the delta waters will be an unforgettable emotion, as will the afternoon boat excursion through its channels.
Expected return at lunchtime - afternoon relaxation depending on the time of the boat excursion, dinner at the lodge restaurant and overnight stay (fb).
