Chile: Eclipse & Trail

eXplora Expedition Pty proposes an expedition to Chile, on the occasion of the total solar eclipse that will take place on December 14, 2020 in the south of the country. The idea was born in collaboration with the photographer and tour guide Giulia Cimarosti, together with my friend Daniele Gasparri, astrophysicist and researcher at the University of Atacama.

You will travel through much of Chile from south to north. The first stop will be in the south, just above Patagonia, where you will observe the breathtaking spectacle of the total eclipse of the sun in the company of the astrophysicist Dr. Daniele Gasparri who will take care of the popular and scientific part of the event.

You will visit the capital of Chile, Santiago, and cross the country to the north to get to the wonders of the Atacama Desert, in the company of the photographer and tour guide Giulia Cimarosti.

It will be an “on the road” journey where you will come into contact with completely different landscapes and their fauna.

WHERE: Villarica Volcano & trail from Santiago de Chile to the Atacama desert.
ACCOMMODATION: Hotel / Guest House
DATE: from 12 to 22 December 2020

Chile is the country with the strongest real and potential tourist growth in the South American area: a little overlooked until a few years ago, international travelers have finally discovered all its beauties, its natural treasures and the infinite possibilities it offers for any type of tourism. With a singular physical structure, Chile is over 4,000 km long from North South, squeezed between the Pacific Ocean and the Andes mountain range, it never exceeds 200 km in width!

Throughout the Chilean territory, populous cities and hundreds of virgin kilometers alternate seamlessly, deserts and evergreen forests, rushing streams and peaceful lakes. In Chile you will find practically every type of environment, every situation you have dreamed of and desired. And everything is absolutely authentic, unique, intense.
